KEY FUNDAMENTAL CLAIMS (The opinions of Don & Katie Fortune - p15p1 is page 15 paragraph 1)





1. CHARISMA(Free gracious gift, not to be confused with Character) CAN'T BE EARNED/PURSUED p15p1 
			- They claim that Charisma gifts shouldn't be pursued, but 1C 12:31 specifically says COVET EARNESTLY GRACIOUS GIFTS.
			- It is however possible that for some reason v31 ONLY applies to v29, therefore ONLY pursue the gifts in the Manifest & maybe Ministry groups... 
			apostle, prophet, teacher, miracle, healing, tongues, interpretation. This might be a revealed truth, but it is vague, mixed up, 
			and  hard to clarify with scripture. In that case only the claim that we don't pursue gifts would be false. We pursue them, 
			just not certain ones. But then Why would we pursue powerful prophecy and not?

2a. Every believer has received ONLY one category (personality) gifts at birth. pg15p1 (no biblical reference.. [why not receive at rebirth?])

2b. MOTIVATIONAL gifts are the KEY gifts to understanding who we are. p14p2 (No biblical reference [why not callings instead?])

		- Possible contradictory verses. The bible actually only speaks of CALLING/PLAN/DAYS being who we are ahead of time, not specifically our personality
			- Jer 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I set you apart appointed as a prophet to the nations"
			- Eph 2:10 - God "prepared in advance" our calling (birth or rebirth unclear), may apply to 5-fold 
			- Eph 1:4-14 - "Before creation chosen/predestined to his plan and his family"
			- Psalm 139:14-16 - "All my days were ordained before formed"
			- Romans 9:11-21 - Hints at both calling and possibly personality "older will serve younger, one i love, one i hate.. I raised you up for this very purpose"

3. They call John the Baptist a Motivational Prophet pg47p3

		- Jesus calls John a prophet Mt 11:9
		- John the Baptist prophecies: 1. Christ calling/action Mt 3:11 (also Lk 3:16, Mk 1:7) 2. purpose Jn 1:29
		- It seems clear that John holds both the power of the Holy Spirit and the office of Prophet, less-so the Motivational gift.

MANIFEST    (Power Gifts [many believe power gifts aren't just the ones with obvious power])
